The fifth Neohydatothrips species, N. abnormis (Karny) is recorded from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, south west of Iran. A large number of both sexes of this species have been collected on Astragalus sp. Diagnosis characters as well as illustrations for N. abnormis are provided.
