Abstract

The family Encyrtidae is globally distributed and comprises over 5000 described species in 506 genera. So far, over 173 species belonging to 51 genera of this family have been reported from Iran. The genus Isodromus, Howard, 1887 is known as a parasitoid of lacewing (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae). To date, 24 species of this genus have been discovered worldwide, four of which have been recorded from Iran. In the present study, Isodromus luppovae Trjapitzin, 1969 is recorded from Iran for the first time, adding a species to the known fauna of this genus in the country. The specimens were collected in 2016 from Tehran province (Tehran city) from pupae of Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens, 1836) (Chrysopidae) found on white mulberry trees, Morus alba L., 1753 (Moraceae). Diagnostic characteristics of I. luppovae are briefly described base on specimens collected from Iran.
